Vicky has been potting and making tableware for over 20 years.  She lives in Llawryglyn, Mid Wales and works from her hillside pottery studio with panoramic views of the Trannon Valley in the Cambrian Mountains.

Over the years Vicky has used both porcelain and terracotta to produce tableware and sculptural pieces.  Her rustic, hand thrown terracotta bread pots are a favourite with clients.  However, her recent work reflects her fascination with the natural world and she has focussed on experimenting with textured and heavily grogged clays to produce tableware with a sculptural appearance.  Using a variety of techniques including hand building, slabbing and coiling to construct pieces, she then explores the interaction of slips and glazes with different clay bodies and endeavours to reproduce the colours and textures of the erosion of sand and rocks by water, the shading, intrusions and veining found in rock formations together with the lichens and plants found growing in and around rocks, on old wooden fence posts and in woodlands.

Vicky is currently working closely with several innovative chefs in designing and making bespoke tableware for contemporary restaurants in Edinburgh, London, Bristol and the Lake District.

She is a member of the Craft Potters Association and exhibits regularly throughout the UK.  She welcomes visitors to her studio and is available to run pottery sessions for individuals or groups.
